The new Boston Consulting Group (BCG) / UnternehmerTUM study “Wachstumspfade für Deutschland” identifies €1.7 trillion in high-tech growth potential across six key technologies.
One of them: Hyperloop 🚄 (as many of us have long argued)
According to the study, developed as a roadmap for implementing the Hightech Agenda Deutschland, Hyperloop represents:
💰 A global market opportunity of up to €40 billion by 2035
🌱 A new generation of climate-neutral ultra high-speed mobility
🌍 A first-mover market where global leadership is still being defined
Europe already holds the industrial foundations required: magnetic levitation, vehicle engineering, control systems, rail expertise.
In other words: This is not about inventing from scratch. It is about scaling what Europe already masters.
📍And the roadmap is clear:
A <5 km test track for system integration and safety validation – followed by a ~50 km reference corridor to demonstrate real-world operation and economic viability.
This is the bridge from research to industry. From prototype to export system. From potential to leadership.
🏛️ Now it is up to policymakers to enable implementation – through coordinated action, regulatory clarity and early infrastructure commitment.
⏳ If Europe wants to lead in next-generation climate-neutral mobility, the window for first-mover positioning is now.
Industrial sovereignty is not declared. It is built.
